What is a metal separator for fuel cells?

Feature

Carbon separators have traditionally been used as separators, which are the main components of polymer electrolyte fuel cells (PEFC). In recent years, metal separators have been attracting attention from the viewpoint of cost reduction, compactness, and impact resistance. By applying the metal surface treatment technology that we have cultivated over many years, we have succeeded in obtaining performance equal to or better than that of conventional carbon separators by applying surface treatment to general-purpose stainless steel separators. Furthermore, we are working on manufacturing an air-cooled fuel cell stack (patent pending) that takes advantage of the heat dissipation properties of metal separators.
